Jammu and Kashmir police arrested Faisal Wani, a Kashmir-based YouTuber who digitally replicated the crime of beheading former BJP spokesman Nupur Sharma, on Saturday, June 11. After his horrifying video went viral, the police filed a FIR against him at Safa Kadal Police Station in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar area under sections 505 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

On Friday, June 10, as many Islamists rioted throughout India demanding the ex-BJP spokesperson's blood, the accused posted a horrific video on his YouTube channel, 'Deep Pain Fitness.'

Wani may be heard stating on the video, "No action…Gustak-e-Rasool ki eki hi saza… Sarr Kalam (The punishment for blasphemy is beheading). " The YouTuber then proceeded to use an axe to behead a picture of Nupur Sharma. The graphic footage also shows Wani grabbing the severed head of the former BJP leader and tossing it away with disgust.

Following the Friday Namaz, Islamist crowds ran riot in various states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, and others, bringing the crisis to a peak. The outraged mob set fire to Nupur Sharma's effigy and posters in some spots, while stones were thrown in others, wounding officers and people, children peeing on Nupur Sharma photographs and inflicting property damage.
