India will resume regular international flights today, after a two-year gap
All international flights will run at full capacity beginning on Sunday.
According to a directive issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, India is poised to restart normal foreign flights on Sunday, nearly two years after the epidemic began.
Scheduled Foreign Carriers have sought for approval of their international schedule, according to the directive. The Summer Schedule 2022 is in force from March 27, 2022, until October 29, 2022.
Sixty foreign airlines from 40 countries, including Mauritius, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, the United States of America, Iraq, and others, have been granted permission to fly 1783 frequencies to/from India during the Summer Schedule 2022.
However, a few new carriers, like India Salam Air, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, Qantas, and American Airlines, are planning to launch airline operations with India.
Notably, owing of the COVID epidemic, India has banned foreign flights from March 2020.
