The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, had a significant increase in ticket sales on Saturday, following a dip on Friday. It earned Rs 7.25 crore, more than the previous day's earnings of Rs 4.50 crore. The entire amount collected by the film is currently Rs 219.08 crore.

The film would reach Rs 225 crore on Sunday before a decrease in performance on weekdays. The film has a good chance of breaking into the Rs 250 crore club. So far, it has stood up excellently to the tsunami of SS Rajamouli's historical drama RRR.

On Sunday, trade expert Taran Adarsh revealed the film's stats. "#TheKashmirFiles is back in the running on [third] Sat, despite a strong opponent [#RRR]… Excellent growth… Will cross ₹ 225 cr on [third] Sun [Day 17]… Will comfortably cross ₹ 250 cr in coming days… [Week 3] Fri 4.50 cr, Sat 7.25 cr. Total: ₹ 219.08 cr. #India biz."

The storey revolves around the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley during the early days of the insurgency. Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, and Pallavi Joshi appear in it.

Earlier, Agnihotri's film business colleague Hansal Mehta tweeted in support of the film's success.

“Congratulations @vivekagnihotri for #TheKashmirFiles. You have succeeded outside the system, on your own terms. Ideologically or otherwise I might disagree with your views and films but as a colleague I must commend you,” Mehta, the director of such critically acclaimed films as Aligarh and Omerta, had written.

The Kashmir Files garnered mixed reviews and achieved popularity solely via word-of-mouth advertising.
