KOZHIKODE: The Enforcement Narcotics Squad (ED) conducted an inspection at the juice stalls on Gujarati Street on Kozhikode beach and found that ganja was being mixed in the form of oil and mixed in milkshakes. 200 ml of liquid mixed with hembseed oil and marijuana kernels were seized from the juice stall. A case has been registered against the firm under the Narcotic Drugs Act.

The seed oil has been sent to kozhikode regional chemical lab for chemical testing. Assistant Excise Commissioner N Sugunan said further action will be taken as soon as the test results are received. This type of cannabis comes from Delhi. The excise department suspects that more such establishments are operating. The excise team is also monitoring whether more students are coming to this juice stall. Further steps will be taken after the results of the chemical test.

The raid was carried out on the basis of a complaint received by the Excise Commissioner that a juice stall on Gujarati Street was being beaten up and sold with the rice of the cannabis plant and a campaign was going on on social media about such a sheikh. Kozhikode Enforcement Narcotics Squad led by Circle Inspector V R Gireesh Kumar conducted the inspection on the directions of Kozhikode Deputy Excise Commissioner.

"Knowingly and unknowingly, male and female students have been given this shake and have made them addicted to it. These are the same truths that Pala Bishop and then PC George called out on September 8 last year!" Christian organization CASA wrote on Facebook.
