Madrassa teacher sentenced to 53 years rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting minor boy student

THRISSUR: A madrassa teacher has been sentenced to 53 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 60,000 in a POCSO case. The case is that the minor boy was sexually abused unnaturally. Siddique Baqaviye (43), a native of Ottapalam, was convicted by kundamkulam POCSO court.

Siddique Baqavi, a madrassa teacher from Ottapalam, had been sexually abusing the minor boy since January 2019. He had sexually abused the child several times at Pazhunnana and a madrassa in Pannithadam. He often sexually abused the child late at night.

The teachers noticed that the victim child was sleeping during class hours at the school. With this, the teachers inquired about things with the child. It was then that the boy revealed the torture of the madrassa teacher. The child told the teachers at the school that he was sexually abused late at night.

Following this, a complaint was lodged with the police against the madrassa teacher. Public prosecutor K S Binoy appeared for the prosecution in the case. Kunnamkulam fast track special POCSO court judge Lisha S pronounced the sentence.
