In the midst of a terror wave, Palestinian social media is flooded with encouragement to violence

As a succession of devastating terror attacks shook Israeli communities in recent weeks, Palestinian social media was rife with incitement, both in favour of the violence and in encouragement of future attackers.

Palestinian social media was rife with incitement, both in favour of the violence and in encouragement of future assailants. President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas denounced the assaults in Bnei Brak and Tel Aviv.

The terror organisations Hamas and Islamic Jihad have attempted to exaggerate the bloodshed in their official media. The dominant Fatah party in the Palestinian Authority has also contributed to the flow of incitement.

According to The Times of Israel, Jenin Governor Akram Rajoub refers to Hazem al-Sa'adi as a "Fatah fighter." Gov. Rajoub is a long-serving Palestinian Authority security officer and member of Fatah, the Palestinian Authority's ruling party.

Identification with terrorists has spread to social media and official Palestinian Authority channels. "Our cause continues in the blood of our people," a Fatah official said.

Fatah authorities have lauded Palestinian resistance "with what Allah offers us." Most of the social media posts on Palestinians are promoting extreme violence against Jews and Israel forces.
