Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh: Donations To Gaza Are Not ‘Humanitarian Aid’ But ‘Financial Jihad’

Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, delivered a speech at a conference organized by the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) in Doha, Qatar. The conference was broadcasted on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) on January 9, 2024.

During his address, Haniyeh emphasized the crucial role of Islamic scholars worldwide in the aftermath of October 7. He stressed the importance of preserving the victory achieved on that day and building upon it.

Additionally, Haniyeh asserted that time is in favor of their cause. He called upon Islamic scholars to advocate for the Palestinians in their respective countries and highlighted that donations to Gaza should be seen as "financial Jihad" rather than mere humanitarian aid.

Furthermore, Haniyeh declared that the time has come for the Jihad of the swords.
